Agnihotri , an IAS Officer of Orissa cadre from the 1980 batch holds Master's Degree in Physics and M.Tech in Environment Science and Engineering from IIT, Mumbai, MA in Rural Development, and Ph. D on Sex ratio patterns in Indian Population from School of Development Studies, University of East Anglia, Norwich UK. Dr Agnihotri is presently is currently Secretary Coordination in the Cabinet Secretariat Government of India.

Janice Lin brings more than two decades of experience in clean energy strategy, market development, and corporate strategy to Strategen. During this time she has advised a diverse range of clients including renewable energy equipment manufacturers and service providers, large corporations diversifying into clean energy, and real estate developers building sustainable communities.
In 2014 Janice co-founded the Global Energy Storage Alliance (GESA), an international non-profit organization, and currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the Executive Committee. Prior to that Janice co-founded the California Energy Storage Alliance (CESA) in 2009, and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for the Energy Policy Initiatives Center (EPIC) and the Energy Storage Committee of Joint Venture Silicon Valley. Janice is also a Member of the Advisory Council of the German American Chamber of Commerce, the UCSD Strategic Energy Initiatives Advisory Council, and Chair of the annual Energy Storage North America (ESNA) conference.

Jeff Gates is Director of Sales & Field Operations for Alevo Energy, a battery technology manufacturer and energy service provider. He has responsibility global sales of energy storage services and systems, project development, and executing on the construction of a large pipeline of current projects. Following completion of the initial projects, he will continue overseeing ongoing commercial operations.
Prior to this Jeff was managing director for Duke Energy Commercial Transmission, which develops, owns, and operates electric transmission facilities throughout North America. In this role, he is responsible for successful execution of transmission project development, from project structuring and regulatory approval through construction, primarily in the western United States. In addition, Jeff had primary project development responsibility for the Notrees Battery Storage Project, a 36-megawatt storage system being installed adjacent to one of Duke Energy’s wind farms in west Texas.

Shri Pankaj Batradid his B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, in the year 1981. He also did his Diploma in Systems Management from NMIMS, Mumbai, and Diploma in Financial Management from IGNOU, New Delhi and Diploma in Public Speaking from Nazareth Speakers Academy, Mumbai. He passed the Combined Engineering Services Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission, was selected in the Central Power Engineering Service and posted to Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in 1983.
He worked in the Western Regional Load Despatch Centre (WRLDC) as a System Operatorandwas also involved in the preparation of various technical reports on Western Regional Gird operations. He also worked in the Commercial Division, wherein he dealt with various commercial matters including the Availability Based Tariff (ABT) and frequency-linked Unscheduled Interchange(UI) charges.
He was deputed by Govt of India to Chukha Hydro Power Corporation in Bhutan in August, 1991, where he joined as Executive Engineer (Operations), responsible for operation of the Power House, Switchyard and Dam. He also later worked as Executive Engineer (Transmission), where he was responsible for operation and maintenance of transmission and distribution system of Bhutan and also erection of the first 220 kV station in Bhutan at Thimphu.
Laterhe worked in the Grid Management Divisionin the CEA Headquarters, where he was involved in monitoring of Regional Grids, analysis of grid disturbancesandpreparation of various technical reports.He was involved inthe finalization ofissues in the Indian Electricity Grid Code (IEGC), Availability Based Tariff (ABT), Open Access, Power Exchange, etc. He framed the regulations of CEA on Technical Standards for Connectivity to the Gridand regulations on Grid Standards.
He worked as Chief (Engineering) in Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) fromApril 2009 to February 2013 and was involved in formulating various Regulations, viz. Grant of Connectivity, Long-term Access and Medium-term Open Access, Measures to relieve congestion in real time operation, Grant of Regulatory Approval for Capital Investment to CTU for execution of Inter-State Transmission, the revised IndianElectricity Grid Code, Power Market Regulations, Regulation of Power Supply, Regulations on intervening transmission facilities, etc.He introduced various provisions of integration of renewables to the grid and smart grid in the IEGC.
He is presently Chief Engineer of the Financial and Commercial Appraisal dealing with appraisal of hydro generation projects and transmission projects, FDI in power, Financial Restructuring Plan of State Discoms, etc. He also heads the Regulatory AffairsDivision in CEA, dealing withStandards and Regulations of CEA, Regulations of CERC and SERCs, and associated issues. He is also Member Secretary of the National Reliability Council for Electricity. He also handles various policy issues.
He is the Chairperson of Working Group VI on “Policy and Regulation” in the India Smart Grid Forum.He has conducted a number of Workshops for Regulators and Transmission and Distribution companies. He is also in the Committee of Ministry of Power for framing Model Regulations on Smart Grid.

Mashelkar is presently the President of Global Research Alliance, a network of publicly funded research and development institutes from Asia-Pacific, South Africa, Europe and USA with over 60,000 scientists. He is the Chairperson of India's National Innovation Foundation. He has been appointed as the first Chairperson ofAcademy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR). He is also the chairman of the Reliance Innovation Council formed by Reliance Industries.
Dr. Mashelkar is the former President of the Indian National Science Academy and the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers (2007–08). He served for over eleven years as the director general of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,world's largest chain of publicly funded industrial R&D institutions, with thirty-eight laboratories and about 20,000 employees. He is the third Indian engineer to have been elected as fellow of Royal Society (FRS), London in the twentieth century. He was elected foreign associate of the United States National Academy of Sciences in 2005, only the 8th Indian since 1863 to be selected. On 28 April 2008, he was elected as the foreign associate of Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. He is the first Indian to have received this honour. He was elected foreign fellow of US National Academy of Engineering (2003), International Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering, UK (1996), and Fellow of World Academy of Art & Science, USA (2000). Twenty-six universities have honoured him with honorary doctorates, which include University of London, University of Salford, University of Pretoria,University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and Delhi University.

Rahul leads the Emerging Technologies & Markets practice for Customized Energy Solutions with focus on energy storage, renewables, demand response and smart grid technologies as well as international markets. Rahul has been involved in evaluating economics of emerging technologies in deregulated electricity markets since 2004. His activities have covered complete range of smart grid, demand response and energy storage technologies.
Rahul currently serves on the Board of Directors of Electricity Storage Association and was elected as Secretory in 2013. He is also Executive Director for India Energy Storage Alliance and is part of Executive Council for Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy in India.
Rahul is involved in providing inputs for the demand response and energy storage policy to FERC & various state agencies in US and India. He has served as an expert evaluator for US Department of Energy for various smart grid and energy storage demonstration projects in US during 2009-12. In 2012, Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) nominated him as chairperson of working group on Integrating Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Micro-Grids and Energy Storage as part of Smart Grid Coordination Committee. In June 2013, he was also nominated as member of national taskforce for integration of Electricity from renewable energy sources in the Grid during the 12th Plan by Central Electricity Authority & Ministry of Power.
Rahul has also obtained Smart Grid Maturity Model (SGMM) Navigator certification from Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute. Rahul holds a Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University. Ravi Seethapathy, is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto, Corporate Director Smart Grid Canada and the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, and an Expert Utility Advisor.
Retired in 2014, after a 31 career with Hydro One/Ontario Hydro (a leading utility in Canada), where he managed leading technical portfolios in R&D, Innovation, Smart Grid, Energy Storage, Renewable Energy Integration, T&D Asset Management, Corporate Technical Audit, M&A, Field Operations and Relaying/Control. He has received numerous honours and citations including (more recently) the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal (2012), and Fellow, Canadian Academy of Engineering (2012). He has served on numerous international technical Advisory Committees.
His current participation in international technical committees include IEA PVPS Taskforce14 (Solar PV), Convenor Cigre C6.28 (Remote Grids), IEC TC120 Expert Committee (Energy Storage), IEC SEG4 (LVDC) and the IEEE Smart Village Program. He is an invited/recognised speaker internationally. He is a Senior Member IEEE and a Professional Engineer in Ontario. He has co-authored over 50 technical papers.
Reji is an internationally renowned expert in the electric power sector with over three decades of experience in the electricity industry in diverse functions across the entire value chain and across continents. He is spearheading a mission to leverage technology to transform the electric grid in India and light every home at affordable cost through sustainable developmental models. Reji played the pivotal role in formulation of the Smart Grid Vision & Roadmapfor India that has been recently adopted by the Government of India. He worked with various stakeholders to bring about consensus in finalizing the smart grid roadmap.
Reji is presently advocating for a “Right to Electricity Act” in India that will ensure lifeline supply of electricity (8-12 hours) to all households in the country. He has been unanimously re-elected the President of India Smart Grid Forum, a public – private partnership initiative of the Government of India for accelerated development of smart grid technologies in the Indian power sector.
As an entrepreneur, Reji has built successful enterprises in India and overseas and exited them. Presently, he is the Founder and Managing Director of Magnetar Venture, an India focused cleantech fund to foster innovation in clean technologies with a vision to build globally successful enterprises out of India in the emerging cleantech revolution.
Reji has studied Engineering, Finance, Management and Law; has worked with NTPC and IBM and been a senior consultant with ADB, World Bank and USAID. A recognized thought leader in smart grid technologies, Reji is a popular key-note speaker at international symposiums and conferences on smart grids and cleantech. He has also contributed to several articles and books.

Dr. Vijayamohanan K. Pillai assumed charge as Director, CSIR-CECRI on April 24, 2012. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science, Dr. Pillai's research work of more than 20 years is primarily focussed on batteries, fuel cells, bio-electrochemistry, electrochemical sensors, chemically modified electrodes, adonization, electro-deposition, electro-organic synthesis, etc. Dr. Pillai has more than 220 research papers and 20 patents to his credit. Under his guidance, 17 students have received Ph.D. degrees. He is a recipient of many prestigious awards including Medals of the MRSI and CRSI. He is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and Affiliate Member of the IUPAC. He is also in the editorial boards of several prestigious journals.
